In Bacon’s Library, where secrets often gleam,
Things are never quite just as they seem.
What appeared so ordinary, quiet, and deep,
Held mysteries where the dusty shadows creep.
A continent of books, with no signs or stops,
Where one might get lost past the towering tops.
But guiding the way, with a smile and a file,
Was the Librarian, Ms. Ant, with a bibliophile’s style.
From encyclopedias to humor, or fantasy to DIY,
She stacked up the piles, reaching toward the sky.
Ms. Ant was the collector, with knowledge so tall,
"The heart of the library," they’d lovingly call.
But order and neatness? Not her best skill,
Finding Harry Potter in History? A disorganized thrill!
So, to save the day, with her dandy legs and bands,
Came the helpful assistant—Ms. Webbs lent a hand.
She spun silky labels for genre and age,
Putting back every book, every spine, every page.
With books in their places, arranged in a row,
Ms. Webbs loved to watch the library glow.
Then came the regular, a scholar, Professor Bee,
"Because of such readers, the library is free!"
She noted recommendations for students to share,
With a buzz of excitement and scholarly care.
But one sunny morning, a disaster was brewing,
A shock to the trio, and a great undoing!
A page, half-eaten—a sight quite untrue—
They had to find the culprit before the books were all through.
The investigation began, the three started to plot,
To catch the intruder, right there on the spot.
They soon realized, with a shiver and a spat,
The thief was the greedy, and filthy, old Rat!
With no taste for stories, just paper to bite,
He crept through the shelves in the middle of the night.
But the trio stood guard, alert and so bold,
Waiting to catch him, just as they’d told.
They flickered their torches, blinding him bright,
He tripped on the piles in the soft library light!
The authorities came, and he faced the magistrate,
While the trio was hailed for their heroic fate.
For the damage he caused, the Rat had to pay,
And the courage of the team saved the books for the day.
With the gold, Ms. Ant collected; Ms. Webbs set the glee;
And the books were returned by the kind Professor Bee.
Peace was restored in the quiet and grand,
The finest library in all of the land.
For in Bacon’s great vision, as the trio could see,
Knowledge stays safe when we keep it all free.
